I’m a British American living in London.
Before this: I co-founded and operated a financial advisory company in Moscow.
Before that: I studied philosophy at San Diego State University in California, and business at University of Sydney in Australia.
I am obsessed with my fascinations. I cannot understand people who don’t get obsessed. This blog is for organising and developing my thoughts on different topics. It is a way for me to understand more about myself and my world.
I consume information. I want to apply useful information on myself. Stories are the best way to communicate. Doing something is the only way to learn something.
Every since I can remember, I have been questioning the imagined reality we live in. The constructed order of the world did not make sense to me, especially the continued unquestioned beliefs of most other people. I have experienced periods of frustration and depression due to the constraints of living an unexamined life.
My happiness is dependent on my productivity. I’m not sure if this a bad thing, but it’s just how I measure my self-worth. I can easily succumb to chronic procrastination, so it’s a constant battle to stay focused.
Continual improvement and progress requires perpetual dissatisfaction. Being comfortable is dangerous. I have become lazy every time in life I have been comfortable. I would feel my mind atrophying during these times. This is fine until I needed to use it again. Comfort always passed eventually. I always needed to start using my mind again. Better to keep pushing myself to stay uncomfortable.
I love progress of any kind, but not the conflict it usually involves.
I enjoy connecting with new people and want to learn from you. Let me know what you think. I need conversation to spark and refine my ideas, please help.
Feel free to ask me anything.
Here’s some questions I ask myself. How you would answer them?
- What do you really want to do in life?
- What prevents you from living the life you want?
- Can you change your current reality?
